This brief satire (now PART 3 OF 3) is a first-person-narrative for once-wunderkind Michael Craig Kekel. Who effortlessly malaprops quit means quit & not conduct/behave, for one example of his choosing worldliness (no time to learn) over God since 1983. There's tens more in this third part. This's memorialized in his 2011 message entitled quit you like men & yes, he preached it - out loud, in public & video taped it? & televised it? & it's still on his blog? Fact is stranger than fiction & Mike is panning out dumber than most. This's regarding God's work. He's shown a wizard in worldly things. So let him know, he's a long time follower, though he doesn't dare comment. FACTNet learned him. Don't mess with ex'rs.
Something's different. I think finally researching Kekel broke something in me. Researching his preference in dating-parameters broke something. Seeing him tele-pulpit online broke something. All somethings I assume needed braking considering the source. Maybe seeing a shepherd butcher his flock every service? He reminds of Oloans. Oloans yells slightly louder, but its the same whiney, entitled, nit-pick, condemnatory, look-at-me, respect me, extra-Biblical content. The-church-of-condemnation? Historically, folks can't get saved from a man's gospel. Christ crucified - a gift, not Jesus-Gonna-Git-You-Sucka if you don't tithe. Church isn't the subscription service Mike's made it. Like a double agent (Denis). A sneak. A trickster. A charlatan. Like cocktails on vacation. Maybe my floodgate broke? He's a sick & evil scoundrel, along with anyone who facilitates the conquest of a child.

Continuing, Jeez-louise golly-gee will-lickers, I've never learned so much about a person's giving & works in my life; even when a pastor:

Commendable go-getting. From the right of the decimal point? Did he cash it & give anonymously? Well, his cover's blown now. Was this before or after pastor Davis figuratively said, as you've long noticed, she's displaying development, but acting inappropriately around the brothers, get her off my hands, i respect you, do me this solid. He likely endorsed & dropped it in. Can you imagine Mike not taking credit for something? He needs all the help he can get.

As quick as he went out & bada-bing-bada-boom, he's back. Like officers in-theater for 30-days so they get a combat patch. They also got-no-respect from those assigned for 12-18 months.
So, it's just Mike being Mike. He's not being persecuted & hasn't been for the 40+ years he's been married to the boss's daughter. He wants sympathy. That's a sympathy sucker for ya. Senior-sympathy sucker to boot. Every incompetent who's married the boss's daughter gets treated like we treat him; worldwide. The competent ones also, just for marrying the boss's daughter. Why won't he understand this, it's nothing personal, just the way it's been since Cain. So he passed the Davis' urinalysis & was awarded evangelist-emeritus (i'll work up an award for this faithful service also, not honorary this time; i think it was a 6-month tour; maybe a fancy sash like the scouts wear; merit badges). No more bologna & he can become a stay-getter in Graham with his hobbies. All accomplished before Tanya was 18, to Mikes 28. He's a go-getter for the right motivation. Like then, he's still talking the good fight in Holy Spirit Power (now with workshop). Mike only had to wait until she was 16 or 2 years. We respect his patience-of-Job at 24 & thankfully the minimum legal age for dating wasn't younger. But, he didn't go there, so meh.

But, it hurts different giving digits if you already have things (& digits), [leggere velocemente] plus a steady job, plus a stable place to live for decades on end with no chance of moving, (breath) plus a bank account not on 'e', giving money every month to the church your pastoring, for the work of the Lord, and using the rest to go to conference and fellowship meetings, (breath) and/or the inevitable move always just around the next corner for these same decades of involvement, with no light at the end of a very long & winding tunnel. Joe will be the senior pastor Graham desperately needs, he would kick that place in order. In Roger's name. Mike would be sent packing on his tin-ear. Sister Olson would've loved it. It's not too late, but will be soon. I wonder if pastor Davis respects me? This just stays silly, no matter where I put it in the 3-point outline.
Some years after I graduated we went to Graham to wait for our next work to be readied since it was taking longer than scheduled (we'd already done the handoff at our church), so we rented a house in bonco. I insulated (same job i had in college). I don't remember preaching anywhere & this was before workshop was the latest thing. I did ask to be a helper at any local church, since Graham has too-many preachers. Nope. How 'bout preach revivals since I never did this (local churches requested us, they wanted Deb's singing, anyone can preach)? Nope, pew-sit in Graham was the best deal I got. Can Deborah go around & sing & I pew-sit where she gigs? Nope was the answer. May I pioneer a church in Cincinnati Ohio? Nope. May I open a work in India in the state of Bihar? Nope. Pew-sit, maybe Mike wanted more company.
So, to Graham for politics, pie & blitzkrieg. Does Mike still stack the best folks on his team? They didn't let Deborah sing, so why'd they need us there? She's a resource. Craig Dobbins was another good lay-pastor, so we asked permission to be on his team. Mike said no to Pellicia when we asked. Pellicia was always rockin' it as lay pastor (he's a go-getter, no homo)? Mike's meetings were a dependable spirit-quencher. A dependable stay-getter spirit-quencher? He keeps getting worse, huh?
No breaks for the congregation, but Mike takes breaks from them regularly. He's a stay-getter minister sneaking go-getting vacations. Shouldn't he do stay-cations exclusively? But, some folks shouldn't speak to the public either, or at all. Maybe Pellicia for senior Pastor? None more qualified comes to mind (Olson first though). Only if they want to escape Mike's doldrums. He'll never leave. Like a relation by marriage. Gene always did great when Mike wouldn't make it, but he was a go-getter in Okinawa too. We were soul-winning partners. Mike & Tanya were the only ones allowed to miss soul-winning meeting (even soul winning). So they're stay-getting from stay-getting in Graham? Lots of layers of lack to the Kekel franchise.
Does pastor Davis respects me? Still silly. Pastor Davis respects me. Sillier still.
When we were leaving after some months, all the executives who hadn't yet & some office workers, invited us to their place. Not the Kekel's though, not many knew they lived a secret worldly life in their newest mansion a few miles away from bonco until FACTNet. I knew 'cause I helped insulate it. Ironically, I also insulated the framing holding the tub they tele-soak in on holidays. Can you imagine the amount of normal possessions they would hide to receive a not-related guest? They'd need a shipping container by the pool (or do they have one). They could cover it in gold leaf so it blends in. You could drive by this mansion going to Shirley McClain's & never know it was there/theirs. Our dance card was suddenly very full. So we had to pack, et cetera around being royally entertained by Graham's royalty. Sweet. For those slowly following, this means they made our packing & leaving harder so they could check a box at their convenience. RESPECT ME!
We assume, even then, this's so when someone would say they 'had the _____'s over when they were here' they could say 'us too'. The rest of us didn't care. Everything's an imagined competition & it's never okay off the Orting-Kapowsin highway behind a fence. Keeping up with the Jones', but american psycho comes to mind.
Oh, how the silly have fallen. As long as Mike & Tanya can imaginate they're senior bon vivant of Graham, they're just the nicest folks. Mike rarely looks comfortable, at his ease, or in command during his tele-pulpit show. Song service (he's the senior musician) often turns hostile, as he takes the song leader to task for infractions to Mike's imagination. He's also senior song-service scold. Then he shares another horrible homily. He's also senior soliloquist, Graham's own extemporaneous nitwit. Mike is the one-man-skit behind the skirt. He needs more variety in his vanity-show & charity in his act. You can tell how often Mike imbibes ex'r press in proportion to how seethy he gets during tele-church.
This was even before they wanted the ego-massage of tv-ministry. FACTNet, email, Skype, SparkPeople, other websites, Facebook, blogs & now YouTube. Davis used new buildings, paid for by store-front churches. Kekel uses tv, paid for by store-front churches. The only thing never changed are the store-front churches; who've been paying Graham's bills since before 1981. If any of this is God, why lead in so many directions?
Regardless, their gimmicks backfire as cult gimmicks always do. Vasectomies, Synergy, blitzkrieg, cheese books, skits, print shop, new education center, new fellowship halls, 1 free lunch, big-green itself, campground, pavilion. motor-homes & now workshops. No new dorms for decades (from no growth; i stayed in the coop). Regarding the print shop: What a waste, they could have published the books some of us wrote. Messages-preached compilations. How about a multi-volume history of NTCC? I'd buy it, even if Mike wrote it. Being forward, I'll write the foreword. Imaginations the limit, I guess they're too occupied with imagining respect & real real estate. Wedding, funeral, birth & vasectomy announcements? College yearbooks? College textbooks? Nope. In NTCC, everything's high school & substitute teacher, so we get business cards, flyers & corner-stapled stick-figure how-to manuals for workshops. They never harnessed their vassal's potential in anything.
Mike suffers from fear & frustration in facing the same bed made for other's (no money) for 44 years since the momentum from pastor Davis influence has run it's course after 11 years. It's possible Davis went on his building mania for the goosh of ego massage & to set Mike up for failure to the tax man. Very unbusinessman like of RW to order others to build extravagant, rarely-used, statement real-estate, in podunk-Graham. Wherever they're at, there they are.
Just marrying the boss's daughter decided his fate in the borg. Not what he does & not what his enemies say. Again, this goes for any executive in any company. I'm an ex'r. Why does senior pastor Kekel spend time thinking about people he hates, or is it he hates-to-think? Is he the hater? Maybe looking at high-heels, backs & bald-spots exiting the door scares him? Have Mike & Tanya told their rich sinner-friends outside of NTCC about Jesus. Do they get church invites? Do they know about his cult? Do they respect the Kekels? What about their sinner-neighbors in Missouri, Arizona & Florida? Does Mike have a dayworker with folks he's 'working'?
Mike's proud he married the boss's daughter, but he's mad we're not? He defined himself, not us. Then whines about sleeping in the bed he made. He pigeon-holed himself. I'm re-phrasing this incessantly throughout this satire for the slow-pokes.
He's Davis' son-in-law, so I acknowledged the coat-tail, being polite. Like I have with every other I married the boss's daughter phenom I've met. He's just always been in Graham. This's where he's pioneered himself. He has a stay-getter's world-missions work (one basis for his honorary awards). Do they have their plot in Orting yet?
Unlike senior pastor Kekel, I (reagan era veteran) know I gained gravitas marrying Deborah. Deborah lost hers by marrying me, just like Coretta Scott King would have if she remarried. But since she wasn't the boss's daughter I would be respected for any respect I earned. Not that I was a climber, or ever had a problem being respected (or not respected). She gave me access to the upper third of the organization for fellowship. At the time, the old timers (folks around long before mike) were still in our cult. The only reason I was invited to the lodge is I married Deborah & the head-sisters wanted to hang with her. The only reason we (& not just her) were invited back is I didn't embarrass her (or myself). I hung with many great folks I would not have otherwise. When we first went go-getting, pastor Davis told me, in front of Deborah, she'll train you. This was a relief, I told them as much. A shared load is lighter & this's why I was never an assistant to a pastor. I had told pastor I wanted to be a helper, to be mentored, to learn. No dice.
She has a wealth of knowledge & experience, probably the top 5% most knowledgeable, in my estimation. So, between fellowship opportunities (lodge, et cetera) & her Davis-approved guidance, I had it made. Easy-peasy. I wouldn't have to learn everything by making mistakes & she could sing. Another advantage I have over Mike. Plus, everyone respects Deborah, another advantage I have over Mike. Plus, I usually don't make the same mistakes over & over & over & over & over &...again. Another advantage I have over Mike. Plus, I also try to not cause my own problems. Another advantage. Does this add up now? Does Mike = respect? Competence?
The hubris I found most odd in the whole organization, even for her, is why Tanya would even talk into a mic with Deborah present, even that Tanya would want to. RESPECT ME! Yet, she keeps singing specials? RESPECT ME! The cut-in-front-of-the-bread-line behavior of a typical cult leader's typical family (no biggie, i like saltines). RESPECT ME! Same as any secular rich-parents kids. RESPECT ME! Tanya is to singing, what Mike is to preaching. RESPECT ME! Plus, Deborah plays piano (drums, tambourine & guitar). Another advantage. So why wouldn't Tanya ever let Deborah sing? RESPECT ME! Or any other better singer since we've all heard lots to choose from? RESPECT ME! Or did they quit-like-men by now?
Our cult's college teaches, use the best resources available for the work of the Lord. For church service, meal, Bible study - don't serve bologna e.g. if you can serve steak. Denis especially stressed this for meals. Folks respect quality. Especially for a service or workshop. Especially for servicemen's work. Everything I had at my disposal (her singing, cooking, includes my notes + after college notebooks, white shirts & wingtips, hairspray) gave me success in the ministry to varying percentages. I was a success, by anyone's measure, because of Deborah first. My advantages helped me, Mike's nepo-advantage (pride) would hurt him if he went out. Hurt his chances of ever going out. Will he ever go out? Well, 2-years 'til they dip to Arizona, if this counts?
RESPECT ME!...Tanya as a missionary, pioneer, evangelist, soloist (& she's the soloist), teacher (& she's my professor) is as ludicrous as Mike senior pastoring a church (& he's the senior pastor).
RESPECT ME!...Why? Give us a new reason. Your marriage to a 16-year-old @ your 26 in 1983, doesn't count since 2014. But folks long term disgust for you (for same) continues.
Remember when the discussion on FACTNet hovered over Olson steering the borg when Davis dies? How would he do it? Would Tanya or Mike listen to him? Joe's a mouse, but I assumed he would turn things around by enforcing pastor's rules postmortem (mike thinks it's postpartum), which the Kekel's scofflawed since before 1981.

Another disturbing point is NTCC girls don't wear makeup, so children look like children in our Cult, not 21. RESPECT ME! i told him i was 14 so he'd respect me... Davis was head for 47 years to Hoovers 48, until their deaths.
Olson would be a tiger on pastor Davis' behalf. True lore. Mild Joe would be Trump. Would Joe get the job? FACTNet wanted to know in 2004. Olson would be our Brigham Young, who strictly taught & enforced Joe's teachings. No deviations. Not criticism, just observation & educational guessings. I never thought Kekel would be gifted the throne. That he's a serious contender? He isn't a serious person, or one to be taken seriously. I assumed, at the time, Davis wanted his Cult to continue after he died? To see everyone's fear & frustration realized in facing what an inconsequential lambasterd Kekel is without Davis, through his tv show this year, is very alarming.
Mike's channeling pre-HOP Denis & Ramtha; with the same trajectory of he's insecure (1957 - 1980), then outcast (1981), then accepted (1983), then entitled (1983), then proud (1983), then defensive (1957 - 1983), then insecure, outcast, accepted, entitled, proud & defensive (1984 - present, Mike's at this step, also victim & persecuted). As the above chart shows, senior pastor Kekel's go-getter phase was from 1981 to 1983 & better than nothing. These aren't all the mile-markers for pride & the order may be switched somewhat, just giving the gist. The next step is out-the-door if he stays true to the Denis/Ramtha template & why Arizona is an important development. Kekel's using workshops & vacations to cover their being in Arizona/Florida/Michigan. The next benchmark is a Polycom. What are folks assumptions of where he sneaks when he's not busy stayin'? They'd better hurry, they're tentatively scheduled to emeritus to Arizona by 2027.
The only difference is Rony's steps to perdition (pride) were impelled by go-getting ministry success upon successes w/no board appointment following (so rony told me) & Mike married the boss's daughter to earn his downward trajectory (pride). It's the pride that creates this path, not what we're proud of. This's why Rony, Ramtha & Mike are the same, as we all are if we're proud enough. Some goals aren't worth reaching. Pride is the same path for everyone, well worn. So I've hit the blogville circuit to opine with others, on the routinely hit-dog loudly-barking on tv. I married the boss's daughter doesn't make him accepted, boss, respected, competent, effective, smart, educated, liked, loved, admired or an internet sensation. Or any of the other imaginings Mike is guided by, or less silly. Kids also think they have the same 'pull' their parents may have. Ditto officer wives. Have you ever 'disrespected' a captain's wife? Well, that's Mike. RESPECT ME! DO YOU KNOW WHO MY WIFE IS! Really Mike? Why don't you tell us again?
Nepotism added rich to his he-is-disappointing, since Mike seemingly puts no effective administration into managing the helm (an administrative function). So Mike's disappointing & rich. Great, he's proud he has Graham, now give an account for this grift ntcc-defenders. He's had 11-years. The same amount I had pastoring. What has Mike done with it? What has Mike done to it? His station as HEIR PRESUMPTIVE (who knew) grants no guarantee to be successful, bossy, abusive, unstable, anchorless, rudderless, competent, overwhelmed, respected, loved or liked. Davis provided all this for him. But he could have chose what not to be made into by his new station. I own a book by Marcus Aralias, Mike's no Marcus Aralias.
He's goofy, is what's left after Davis left. So what he was before. No personal progress. Life's lessons aren't, if not learned. He would, if he had time. The only rights nepotism grants are riches & criticism. Lee Iacocca's book "Where Have All The Leaders Gone?" has some insight. Pastor Davis loved being right about people & he's always right, just ask him & he'd tell ya. I can imagine a cheshire smile splitting his face as he sees the mess Mike is making of NTCC. Davis (& most others) knew Mike's a dud, but he had to placate Tanya for Verna sake at any cost. Does Verna have dirt to dish? So Mike got the job. It really cost him more than he’ll ever know.
I wunder if Verna has dirt on Rodger? I wunder if Mike is pastor only so Tanya can be head-pastor's wife? Tanya's another second fiddler who thinks her kazoo is a violin. I wunder if Mike took the job to please Tanya & why he's listless in ministry & lodges in Arizona? His gift is office work? I wunder if this's the only purpose of NTCC? To give pastor Davis the resources to please Tanya? Why does Tanya look increasingly like RWD as she's aged past 14? Everything revolves around Tanya? I know she thinks this & it's true within the compound. But, for reals, to this extent? I could believe this easily, but it would be astounding. Does Tanya have dirt on Rodger?
Davis pleased Tanya, to please Verna, even at the cost of his life's work, Tanya & our children. The outlier was Mike again, he's attracted to teens & giving him Tanya degaussed him enough to protect the corporation until she aged past his tendency. Self-control would be the normal option. Maybe the reason for their sudden move to Graham, just an informed speculation? When did Graham's children's church start? It's been a minute. So once again RW juggles & spins plates to the apprehension & amazement of all. Giving Tanya to Mike was a boss-move sacrifice-of-convenience for Rodger, but it turned out a band-aid & Mike's still dud-on-arrival in the interim.
Mike would get criticized even if competent, since he married the boss's daughter. It's dopey not to understand this. This defines him for the rest of his silly lifestyle (dumb is secondary), until they emeritus to Arizona in the next few years (no later than 2027). This was his entire identity when we were go-getting for our cult. This goes for anyone related to a boss in any corporation. Cuz it's church it's different? The boss's daughter's husband becomes competent through marriage? Not if he wasn't before. He was the equivalent of working in the mail-room. This's just my personal perception, only because he married the boss's daughter. Respected, loved, admired? Historically, only in the person's own imagination.
Using Mike's example, here's some more twisted skits: We're all brothers & sisters in Christ, so nepotism & incest is de rigueur. RESPECT ME! How's about: We're all children in Christ so technically everyone's doing it? RESPECT ME! Best he stay a pew-sittin' & contemplate quit means quit & how superior he is. He's anchored Jesus & chained the cares of this world to his leg & is rudderless overall. So, he can't leave Graham, it's his crossroad.
His spiritual gift is office work (as he ridiculously shares), but with a private office suite (humbly un-plaqued so he wouldn't have to choose a title; efficient, practical, frugal, respected). Being the founders son-in-law has its perks. The main being no one takes you seriously, regardless of competence. So, him thinks respected successes are assured? Mike's actions demonstrate he's in this camp. Some folks operate through the gift-of-error. I SAID, I MARRIED THE BOSS'S DAUGHTER. RESPECT ME! Again, this goes for any corporation which allows nepotism.
I'll take all my advantages over his glitz any day. Mike wants big-time industrial-evangelism ministry with no personal synergy or humility, with no go-getter foundation to stabilize & preserve growth (growth still pending), so it's time to start dipping to Arizona. We're still talking about Mike. Without humble go-getter roots, ministry success doesn't happen unless you inherit it. He did, so if it abides is up to Mike. I've watched the big Lebowski & Mike's no dude. You won't be a Swaggart without the humble go-getter roots. Although, to be fair, Jimmy can sing & play piano & his scandal's involved adult women.
Since Graham is failed on Mike's watch, it's still up to Mike. I doubt anyone of us would mind if he blamed it on the ex'rs. Can he turn our Cult around? Stay tuned. They have a tele-pulpit, maybe they could also do a survival show, showcasing their struggle. The name wouldn't need to be changed (lost). Or, he could resign to Arizona early & the executive board could appoint someone more competent (anyone really). I thought of 20 right off, but they quit-like-men already. Including sisters who could also easily out-senior-pastor Kekel in Graham, who've also quit-like-men. I vote for Deborah. A point is, Kekel wasn't useless then, he just wasn't a thing other than Tanya's husband, unless he was my professor, but so was Tanya & Gesang. Otherwise he was a non-entity, who also married the boss's daughter. He had a purpose in NTCC (tanya's husband, in the band & mr. microphone stuff), he just wasn't pastor yet & at that time I assume he never would be, for the good of our cult. Did he want it? To be senior pastor? What aptitude was exhibited? Or's this what Tanya wanted?
Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them. Although Shakespeare doesn't address it, the tragedy is Mike stay-got inherited-greatness while saying my greatness was achieved - John Houseman for Mike Kekel. Okay Mike. Further eroding his respectability. Yet, how does one reverse public opinion for marrying a mature 16-year-old when you're only a youthful 26? This & the Bible will always define him, not his imagination. Especially among grown women.
How ick is senior pastor Kekel to grown women who know his past. Do they fight the cringe to shake his hand? Is Verna repelled? Then what's wrong with her? Does Verna let Mike kiss her? What's wrong with her? Verses condemning hypocrisy & worldliness define Mike. Age laws for dating should've stopped Mike. RW should've stopped Mike. Verna should've stopped Mike. Tanya should've stopped Mike. What's wrong with her? Why wasn't she raised better? Parent's slackin'. The board should've stopped Mike. The students should've stopped Mike (blanket party). Nobody stopped Mike then & they make the same mistake now. I know inaction solves most problems, just not this time. RESPECT ME!
The Kekel's won’t relate to the little people behind the fence, as evidenced by his shared online perceptions of what's struggle, but others would consider not-struggle. Not very manly (carter era again). He may have been a child who ran home for care for an owie & we're the same age? hank-hill shudder It would be too rich if he's also the kid who took his ball & went home. hah (alf)! Was he the bully he is now? seriously? milquetoast Mike? Snitch? Yes. undoubtedly Teachers pet? maybe a substitute's who also wouldn't know his past Probably no & for the same reasons in his articles. He's not faithful, moral or trustworthy & he's a groan-getter (see NTCC-tv on youtube). Tanya's (1966) entitled, so Mike (1957) panted after it & shortly was hitched (10.16.1983) to her silver spoon & became entitled to it. My take? It’s all about the money, gas-lighting, pride of secular equipment & child liaisons by a hollow, suited, groan-getter. He still doesn't generate much bang for my buck, or growth from the bucks NTCC's churches send to Graham to pay Graham's bills. Estimated at $52,000 a month in 2010. Could this be a new board position? Child liaison?
Consider this, senior pastor Kekel has never (40 years to date), ever (42 years to date), ever (44 years to date, then do the 'emeritus dip' to AZ)…[leggere velocemente] Pastored a church outside of Graham, pioneered a church, pastored a church which didn’t have sufficient guaranteed income, pastored a church which didn't have nice facilities, or had a dependable late-model car. (breath) Moved every few years, had to quit a job, had to pick people up for church, had to commute to work or church (or even change for church, he worked in church clothes), had to wonder how the church bills were getting paid or went door-to-door door knocking. (breath) Had junky furniture, et cetera for the past 28 years (40 to date).
So maybe he really doesn’t understand? Emphatic enough? Maybe we'd be worldly if we had Kekel's wealth. We would like to try, so we are. But, not so worldly as they. Maybe just christian-erotica worldly, since there's now lifestyle modesty-bubbles. But we'll see. It'll take longer, since we have to amass it honest & Kekel has the nepotism head-start advantage. So far we're still the same people (minus the stinking thinking & faithful grifting). We're still standing on our own 4 feet (just like we did in the cult). We have better shoes. We were/are not dependent upon being propped by the man from Cotton-Mill-Hill, and were not exempted from the routine dangers of cult-life by the founder’s wife, daughter & grandson.
I appreciate the way things turn out, and who we are. Things are still progressively better. I also like the fact the blogs are still active and effective (and so effortlessly tweak the leadership since the beginning & steer their actions), and people continue to escape.
