As I said before, We opened wide our doors; we spent two hours with the reporter, including a full tour of the Campus and answered all his questions. He was laughing and joking with us, and then said we were “shifty.” He was in service with us that Sat. evening and again Sunday morning. He meandered around talking to various people, and noticed one precious brother, a veteran of the war on terror, standing in the back who stands during the services due to a condition contacted during his deployment. It somehow affects the nerves, and he can’t keep his shoes on because of the intense burning sensation. Bruce Smith took a photo of him and related his words in tones of mockery in his second article. That man stands back there because he fought for me and my family; thank you soldier, and God bless you.
In the first article, every quote is attributed to the wrong person. He called us Associate Pastors, which neither of us are. I don’t worry about titles, but in truth, I’m the Senior Pastor and Rev. Kinson is the Pastor and, as we explained to him twice, we have 3 Associate Pastors and 13 Lay Pastors working with us. He was told that all the students take classes at night and work during the day and, yet for some reason he kept asking where the women were. If he wants to see if we have women, Ladies Prayer Meeting is what he should visit, and by the way, they recently had a ladies’ luncheon with over 100 in attendance.
Here’s a few more;
“A unique strategy of the NTCC outreach is to target military bases, particularly overseas, where single, lonely American soldiers need something more than honky-tonks and bars. We provide a home-away-home," said Kinson, "and get them out of those filthy, evil barracks." (Bruce Smith)
Pastor Kinson didn’t even use those adjectives, nor mention honky-tonks and bars, and I said (not Kinson) “home away-from-home.” And why the buzzword “target?” His tone here is mockery, “ewww, filthy, evil barracks” as if to say he doesn’t think they are. I understand that he doesn’t agree with any church, and we don’t expect him to, but is it alright to create quotes of things not said? He also contradicts himself; The photo says we are “Assoc. Pastors” but one paragraph calls Pastor Kinson my Assoc. Pastor. He says we “stay to ourselves” and then says we are very evangelical and reach out to the community by knocking on doors. (?) He can’t keep facts straight, therefore he won’t get any more from us.
Numbers
We told him that we don’t keep close count of the churches and student numbers, but we could easily get that information for him, but he refused it. So then he writes;
“Rev. Kekel was unable to provide definitive answers about his organization, such as how many churches worldwide belong to the corporation, or how many members attend services, even though Kekel is the CEO.” (B.Smith)
The church in Graham is also a Christian Seminary with approximately 100 students, and a congregation of about 700-800 people, a mixture of Lay Ministers and church members. We have an outstanding reputation nationally with business people, employers, housing administrators and many others, that we have built over 30 years of serving this community and others. Our doctrinal statement demonstrates the biblical integrity of the church, and has satisfied the US Government, the College board of Washington State and the Military at home abroad. Most people who visit our churches are amazed at the differences they find, as compared to many others. They find all nations represented, worshipping together. They find a very joyful group of believers, lively interaction and upbeat services that center on Jesus Christ. We have 116 churches, and just added two more buildings and a bunch of graduates are headed out after this Conference. Amen.
All his facts are mixed up, and neither PK or myself said the things he said we said. Now in the last article, I’m the co-pastor. In another article, PK is my Assoc. Pastor. This man emerged from our interview with either total confusion or disregard of the facts. Question is, which?
After Bruce’s second Bible Study
Then he came to a second bible study. He accused Pastor Kinson of “shooting at him” in the first Bible Study, but the lesson from Acts about the ungodly fighting the church was not pre-arranged “just for him”, sorry. Bruce Smith followed Pastor Kinson around, red-faced and flailing his arms and reciting the accusations of the X’ers. We had already told him in the interview that we had no interest in debate of the X’ers issues and lies, but he kept on. We still have no such interest. He proceeded to angrily protest to PK, saying, that if he didn’t surrender sensitive, private information about how much people are paid, and what the income of the church was, he would publish that PK is level-3 child abuser and felon (which he isn’t)
Bruce Smith stated in the interview that he is a professional story-teller. PK said to him “Well, you said you are a professional story-teller, and that’s what you’re interested in isn’t it, a story, not the truth.” “That’s right” Bruce replied. He continued to demand to speak with PK’s wife about false allegations Victor Johanson made (which she factually denied); he demanded to know how much everyone is paid; he threatened PK that, if he didn’t get the information he demanded, he would publish these false accusations about him, as truth, in his paper. Now Vic Johanson pastored in Alaska at one time. Bro. Eric Barden passed away a while back, but he was Vic Johanson’s helper at that time. I don’t know if Angela Reggio was Eric’s wife at that time and in Alaska with them, or not. But they had divorced I understand, and the “Angela R” you see posting negative things is her I believe. She has no knowledge of anything pertaining to the beginning days, and should never parrot someone else’s words when they aren’t validated with the rubber stamp of truth.
Well praise God, this blog is about to break the 50,000 mark! There’s around 100 new visitors weekly, and that’s good. I also noticed a recent increase in viewings, due to recent events here in Graham, WA at the church, so I felt the need to broach the subjects here, so that the brethren and anyone who cares about it, could know the truth of the matter.
This blog was originally (long ago) setup to display facts and photos of the “X-ers” so that the brethren could know, not only the words, but the appearance (that’s generated many of the initial page views ) Once it had served its purpose, it was de-activated. I still have the photos and articles, so if anyone would like them, just email me at mckekel@hotmail.com
God bless you,
